What heating principle do SUNLU dryers use? Are they safe?

Our entire product range uses PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) ceramic heating elements in combination with intelligent control chips. PTC technology is self-regulating: as soon as the target temperature is reached, resistance increases and power consumption drops, preventing overheating. In addition, our products feature integrated thermal cut-offs and multi-stage safety mechanisms that ensure reliable 24/7 operation, even during long drying cycles.

Why do I need a filament dryer? Isn't a sealed box with desiccant enough?

There is a fundamental difference. A sealed box with desiccant provides passive protection – it merely slows down moisture absorption. A dryer, on the other hand, is an active dehumidification device. It uses a PTC heater to generate dry heat and circulating air to remove moisture from the filament core. It can restore damaged materials (such as popping PLA or brittle nylon) and recover their optimal printing performance. For high-quality technical materials, a dryer is an indispensable tool for both maintenance and restoration.
